Being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of six, I have had to learn how to adapt to change and go with the flow throughout life. Drawing patterns became my way of escaping the challenges that come with being Diabetic and has now become a part of my daily routine, as a way of handling the everyday stresses in life.
This work was influenced by the idea of letting go, allowing my mind to create whatever it wants with no pressure or pre-planned ideas. I wanted to have fun and see where my mind could go if I just let it flow to whatever places it wanted too, not worrying about the finished product and instead allowing the work to tell me when it was done.
