From a photo taken at my parents' house after a few wines. I had taken several photos of my parents as we laughed and told stories. Mum decided she liked having her photo taken and starting posing on the piano, resulting in some truly lovely images. I love homes and decor, and place a lot of meaning on what we keep in our homes, a trait I think I inherited from my mum. She is sitting on her Great Granmothers piano, with my Grandfather on Dad's sides clock, a Buddha given to her as a gift, wearing a cardigan from me, with her feet on Dad's granmother's kitchen table. Like me, she also collects mirrors and keeps many around the home. This work was originally very detailed, but I pared it back to the "essence of Suse", soft and serene, with glorious greying hair. The rest is focused on the colour and shape of the wooden decor, again something we both collect.
