A house or home conveys many feelings. In recent years it has been both a safe haven and a prison, and in current financial times, a heavy burden to carry. Never the less, we continue to strive to have a house and create a home. Ultimately it is the base from which we lead our lives and a solid foundation from which to plan a future. I made this as a replica of a friend’s house in Mayfield. For her, having a home symbolizes safety, stability, opportunities and forming solid roots for herself and her young family. I created this work as a representative of her strength, courage and determination and as proud acknowledgment of her achievements.
