About the artwork:

Aurora - Dynamic patterns of brilliant lights that appear as curtains, rays, spirals or flickers covering the entire sky.

The artwork explores variations of tensegrity, or integrity under tension, a structural principle based on a system of isolated components under compression inside a network of continuous tension, and arranged in such a way that the compressed members do not touch each other. The addition of coloured string between the rigid members highlights the tension required to achieve structural integrity.

The result is an exploration of geometry in motion, free to rotate in the breeze and connected by flickering rays of coloured light. The perception of the shifting forms is continuously altered by the slow rotation and ability to view the piece from different angles and heights.

Anchored in geometric principles, the piece is an invitation to experience the intangible and witness the tension between opposing equal forces, unconstrained by gravity, time or space.
