Threads of Time
This artwork highlights the intergenerational connection of four women through my maternal lineage who were all born within the 20th century. Art and creativity has and continues to be a driving force both on a personal level as well as our chosen career paths.
Relationships, education and lifestyles were all set in their own era however the one thing that connected us beyond time and generations was our love of creativity and art. Practicing in fashion design and dressmaking to visual art and secondary art teacher.
Exploring the lives and at times the hardships of what these women experienced showed the absolute necessity their work played throughout war and conflict, pandemics and so much more in an ever-changing world. Not only their career but also raising families during those times showed the sheer resilience of four incredible women all connected through the threads of time.
