In this work I'm bringing it back to basics, using ink and charcoal on brown paper and drawing what's familiar to me, my Nan’s home. There’s something really impactful about the process of it, drawing from life on a large scale using the same materials I started my art journey with.
Life has been a whirlwind lately, so drawing what I love in a place that's comfortable when I might not necessarily be too comfortable myself, is helping bring me some peace. My Nan’s house has always been a place of refuge, and as I've recently moved back in, running from bills and all the lovely things life hands to you as an adult, I'm finding myself feeling nostalgic and safe again.
