About the artwork:
The driving force behind my work is my place in the world. Where I come from, the people in my life, the relationships we have, not only with others but with ourselves, the earth and spirit world. We are all inherently connected to everything around us.
Points of Connection speaks of the connections between ourselves and the world around us. The wood representing the solid human form, weighted, grounding but still vulnerable to the elements, to living life. The rusty welded steel arms, strong but changeable, adjustable, moveable. The perspective can be altered.
Points of Intersection has the same foundations but from a different angle. It represents how our world can deviate, suddenly change direction, leading us to somewhere we never considered.
There are millions of things that can influence our worlds, internal and external. This work speaks of the highlights, the challenges, the human vulnerability.
