Samantha Walsh

I was first involved with NAS as a finalist in the NEAP in 2020, this was my first year exploring art seriously as an adult (I hid my love and desire for art to pursue a 'sensible' career path after year 12). It was INCREDIBLE to stand in the gallery at NAS in front of my NEAP work holding my 1-year-old. It was a real moment of acceptance and pure joy.

Since that moment in 2020 I've also participated in workshops, group shows and been selected as a finalist in the 2024 HEAP. The best bit however was being mentored by the wonderful Jen Denzin during the 23/24 NAS Mentorship program. An unforgettable experience that has helped shape me as an emerging artist.

I’ve also developed so many friendships through NAS!

Happy 40 years NAS and here’s to the next 40
