In this work, Laura and Peter have taken a motif that appears in both their practices - the staircase - and combined their contrasting materiality to reveal new and suprising associations. While the staircase has different associations for Laura and Peter, the dense graphite and featherweight organza share a subtle luminousity that allow these two opposing materials and diverse ideas to co-exist. This combined work embodies both their conceptual thinking while reflecting the nature of the mentor/mentee relationship.
